Public Notice of Significant Amendment to the Annual PHA Plan
PUBLIC NOTICE OF SIGNIFICANT AMENDMENT TO THE ANNUAL PHA PLAN
The Lake County Housing Authority (LCHA) hereby gives notice of a proposed Significant Amendment to its Annual Public Housing Agency (PHA) Plan.
LCHA proposes to amend its Annual Plan to absorb the Annual Contributions Contract (ACC) units and associated housing assistance from the North Chicago Housing Authority (NCHA), subject to approval by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This action will result in LCHA assuming administrative responsibility for these units and programs, ensuring continued housing assistance to affected residents. These units include 471 Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV), 70 Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH), 5 Family Unification Program Vouchers (FUP) and the Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) along with the corresponding Annual Budget Authority, Administrative Fees and supporting grant funds.
Purpose of the Amendment: The proposed Significant Amendment will allow for the transfer and consolidation of ACC units from NCHA to LCHA. The intent is to promote administrative efficiency, improve service delivery, and ensure the long-term sustainability of housing assistance for current and future participants.
